We are seeking our next music director, to start September 2022. We are looking for someone with exceptional directing skills and a love and deep knowledge of Renaissance vocal music to build on Convivium’s long record of exploring the far corners of Renaissance choral repertoire and performance, in all languages and geographies. The group prepares three full programs per year, performed in Boston, Cambridge, and around New England, and rehearses weekly on Wednesday nights in Coolidge Corner, Brookline, during the academic year. Compensation $9000+, depending on experience.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to: mdsearch@convivium.org
The search committee will begin screening candidates on a rolling basis, as soon as application materials are received. Applications must be received by January 15, 2022. Finalists will be auditioned in winter 2022, and we expect to make the appointment by May 1, 2022.
Convivium usually holds auditions in late August/early September and occasionally in late January or early February. Good sight-reading skills are essential. A prepared piece is welcome but not required. Please contact us any time if you are interested in auditioning.
