In 1575, William Byrd, a rising musical star, and Thomas Tallis, nearing the end of his career, were granted a patent for the printing of music in England, and published a set of XX motets dedicated to Queen Elizabeth. Join us as we perform gems from this royal colle ction, including Byrd’s magnificent 8-voice canon Diliges Dominum.
